DigitalDNA is two things. First it is the name of the consultancy company I run with my wife and partner, Ingrid. Secondly, it is this blog. A place that explores and highlights what I call the digital DNA of all things that are techmedia related. The blog is really an attempt to document my curiosity and help me learn rather than be a definitive guide to techmedia.
My name is David Maher Roberts. I have been involved in digital media and technology for 15+ years. First as publisher of .net magazine, .netDirectory and Connect back in 1997, then as Publishing Director of all of Future’s games magazines (e.g. Edge, PC Gamer) and websites (including GamesRadar). In 2003, I founded and grew Future Plus – The Content Agency into a business generating £10m+ of annual revenue and was Digital Director at Future for three years. I was CEO of The Filter, a world-leading recommendation and relevance engine for digital entertainment content. The company is backed by Peter Gabriel and Eden Ventures and its solution is used by customers including Nokia, Warner Bros., Vudu, British Telecom and We7.
Through DigitalDNA, I am now focused entirely on helping companies make sense of the business opportunities that involve content, consumers and data.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, playing/watching/coaching football and re-mixing music.
